Gender equality is all about making sure everyone — no matter their gender — has the same rights, opportunities, and chance to thrive. But right now, that’s far from reality. Across the world, 132 million girls aren’t able to attend school, and far too many are denied basic choices like what they learn, who they become, and even when or who they marry.

When girls are educated, respected, and heard, entire communities become safer, stronger, and healthier. Gender equality isn’t just a “nice-to-have” — it’s a human right, and one of the most powerful ways to spark global progress.

ABOUT SHE’S THE FIRST

We’re proud partners with She’s the First, a global organization working to create a world where every girl chooses her own future. They take a rights-based, girl-centered approach—supporting community organizations, strengthening girl-led advocacy, and providing tools, training, and resources that help girls grow up educated, respected, and unstoppable.

From feminist mentorship programs to flexible funding for grassroots partners, She’s the First invests directly in the ecosystem that uplifts girls around the world — and we’re honored to stand alongside them.

Legacy builds youth-powered gender equality campaigns that make taking action easy, accessible, and genuinely impactful.

Our goal? Turn big global issues into everyday moments of advocacy that young people can actually do — no gatekeeping, no guesswork.

In past campaigns, students have:

• Opened up conversations about gender inequality online

• Shared their stories through content creation

• Activated their communities

• Unlocked real donations for menstrual products and girl-centered programs

  
  

During our recent partnership with She’s the First, students stitched a video breaking down how gender inequality impacts their lives. Every stitch automatically unlocked a $10 donation to the Girls First Institute, helping provide one month of free menstrual products to girls in the Global South.

Because when you speak up, someone else gains access to education. When you take action, you change someone’s day — or their entire future.

And when thousands of young people move together? Yeah… that’s how progress happens. 💛
